I feel like I can’t do that with all the pressure of sounding intelligent and following the rules and answering the question right.
Why am I choosing art as a discipline?
Why? Because I love to do art. Because at school, nothing else interests me. Because art is the only class I ever think about participtating in. Because art is real. Art is the world, art is what is around you. Art is what you make it. If you want 2 + 2 to be 7, you can’t because math is math and it’s always the same and always boring. Because aesthetic pleasure is so important to me. Why am I on Tumblr? Because I get to see hundreds of pretty pictures and they make me feel good. Like, look at that, that is so pretty, I want to see that all the time because it’s so pleasing. Because art is expression beyond words. Because I believe life is about feeling things that are too great for some sentences to describe. Creating an artwork about why I want art as my profession would be easier than writing it with words.
Because art makes you feel, makes you think, makes you feel like you belong to the world.
